New Prescription Feed Checklist and Templates from Health Canada
As of December 1, 2018, all medically important antimicrobials for veterinary use will be sold by prescription only. Through this initiative, the number of feed prescriptions issued by veterinarians and received by commercial feed mills will increase.
Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency have developed a checklist and species-specific (ruminants, swine, poultry, example templates to assist veterinarians when writing feed prescriptions.
